Bringing Scrunchie Back

Trend Alert:

Ponytail Paradise

Throwback-lovers rejoice, the days of watching Full House and lusting over Stephanie's perfect ponies are finall y over. The newest hair trend takes a step away from the metallics and bright colored trends I've noticed happening, and brings us back to simpler times where we were always trying to copy that flawless "Saved By the Bell" Kelly Kapowski look. Even though scrunchies were once publicly rejected by fashion guru Carrie Bradshaw, they reap more benefits than standard ponytail holders, a tried and true necessity. Wearing scrunchies promotes a loose updo (even when it appears tight), triggering plenty less headaches than their uptight standard ponytail holder friends. Since scrunchies are inarguably more lose than standard hair ties, they also help keep your hair layers from becoming dented due to the pony's weight in your hair. You ciss straight hair with a crease in the middle because of your workout pony goodbye! Finally, an easy peasy pony without the weight. Ninety's babies can have their cake and eat it too with this rad retro trend. Embrace those Topanga hair vibes!

Featured is the always fabulous Bella Hadid looking stunningly sporty in her workout gear and slicked back scrunchie pony; as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones and her tied back scrunchie, looking cozy chic with her Birkin bag and fur coat. Whatever the occasion may be, scrunchies are creeping back up on us from their 80's and 90's style reign. Who knows, maybe scrunchies will be making a trendy 3-peat, leaving their laidback looks swinging our ponies for years to come. Work that updo!
